ALDLAND Podcast

Aldland is back with another podcast, talking about all of the hottest issues in the sports world. On tap this week is discussion of a possible new football league to rival the NCAA and a discussion on what impact David Beckham has made on soccer in the United States. Get at it, and tweet at us with ideas for discussions for future podcasts so I can stop browsing Reddit more than I already do.

Not a lot going on in the sports world these days with the MLB still getting into the swing (heh) of things and the NHL not quite to the playoffs yet. Co-host Marcus “Primetime” Paschall and I have scraped the bottom of the barrel and come up with some discussion of the thus far lackluster NBA playoffs, which is really more of a discussion of hypothetical future playoff matchups. But it will still be fun for you because what else do you have to do?  Work?  Hang out with family? So listen as we dig into the meat of the NBA playoffs and talk about the excessive NFL Draft coverage on ESPN.

Spring means a lot of things, but mainly it means Game of Thrones and baseball. Those are easily the two best games of all time and both promise to be very exciting as spring turns to summer. Who are your guys’ favorite Game of Thrones characters anyway? Why don’t you tweet @ALDLANDia and tell us some characters and things you like about Game of Thrones? Baseball is also happening, and it is also exciting. Jayson Werth even uses the Game of Thrones intro music as his walkup song! How cool is that? Join cohost Marcus “Primetime” Paschall and I as we go division by division and provide you with the most comprehensive preview of the MLB season that is also two and a half weeks late. But don’t blame us, because we had other stuff to do like watch Game of Thrones and come up with theories on Game of Thrones. Seriously I come up with like at least three theories a day, it’s not even funny.

Are you a basketball fan? Is it March Madness? Then why don’t you come down to ALDLAND’s Podcast Warehouse. We have a comprehensive podcast discussing the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight games as well as our predictions for the final weekend of college basketball before you have to watch baseball all summer (your mileage will vary on how much you enjoy that). You know what they say: come for the discussion of the Final Four, stay for the discussion of the Frozen Four. Will the nerds from Yale (pronounced Yah-Lay) win? How about the total bros from Qunnipiac? Or maybe that other school? Did you know there’s a school called UMass-Lowell? Well now you do.

It’s that time of year again. That’s right, it’s NCAA hockey tournament time! But that preview is coming next week. For now, join my co-host Marcus “Primetime” Paschall and I as we break down our picks to advance far in this year’s NCAA basketball tournament. Due to time constraints (mainly the fact that we had to finish this thing by the time Justified aired), we aren’t getting too in depth (no coverage of the play-in games), but there’s enough here to ensure that you finish dead last in your bracket pool. So take a listen and make all the opposite picks.

With all of you ALDLANDers out there getting excited for the Super Bowl, we had to put out a robust podcast covering that game, and also the biggest game of the weekend, Michigan at Indiana.  Join yours truly and Marcus as we cover everything from x’s and o’s to how dumb Chris Culliver is.  Come for the Super Bowl, stay for discussion of James Franklin being a weirdo.

It has often been said that ALDLAND will make you jump, jump, and this podcast is no exception.  I am sure you can guess that we will be leading off with the biggest story of the day, possibly even of this young year.  But fear not, listener(s).  There is ample discussion of Manti “I have a girlfriend  she just goes to another school” Te’o as well as the NFL playoffs.

So the holidays are over.  The BCS games were mostly boring.  The NFL wild card games were also mostly boring.  You are probably sitting around pondering if life is even worth it any more.  Don’t fear, loyal listener(s), it is.  There’s a new ALDLAND podcast for you to listen to in which we discuss all that boring stuff and make sense of it.  As the great philosopher John L. Smith once said, “SMILE!”
